About Us

The Flyboard combines the physical attributes of an array of popular sporting activities including jet skiing, water skiing, wake boarding, snow skiing, snowboarding and acrobatic diving. Whilst many of these activities can take a substantial amount of time to master, the flyboard is very intuitive, its like learning to walk and will generally only take 20 minutes with an instructor to find your balance and to start flying freely.

about-img1Flyboard is an amphibious water-powered jet pack that propels the boarder up to 30 feet in the air!

The Flyboard was invented in spring 2011 by a french watercraft rider, Franky Zapata. He built many prototypes before perfecting the design which allows the device to climb out of the water and be stable in the air. This was achieved by the underfoot propulsion and hand stabilization.

Flyboard riders stand on a board connected by a long hose to a watercraft, usually a jetski. Water is forced under pressure to a pair of boots with jet nozzles underneath which provide thrust for the rider to fly up to 15 metres in the air or to dive headlong through the water.

Having an extreme sport that takes only 20 minutes to grasp, means it works intuitively with your body, allowing you to move freely and glide through the water to maximize its potential in a short amount of time. Exclusively owned and operated by an Australian company, the flyboard is as exciting as it is impressive. This will be an experience you’ll never forget. So come try it out for yourself, and come fly with us!

Where can I flyboard?

You’ll find us on Station St Pier, Port Melbourne. Each flyboard or hoverboard session takes place on the water there – it’s a beautiful location!

What is the maximum user weight for the flyboard?

There is no weight restriction to use the flyboard. The amount of lift you get will depend on the available horsepower and body weight – someone of average height and weight can fly up to 30 feet in the air!

Will I get trained before my flyboarding experience?

Yes. Everyone will get 30 minutes training on the beach before their session from one of our qualified instructors.

What should I wear?

We will supply you with a life jacket and wetsuit (or BYO if you have one), but we suggest you wear something you are comfortable with getting wet in.  A swimsuit is perfect – but if you’re more comfortable in shorts and a t-short, that’s fine too.

How fast can the flyboard travel above the water?

Technically, it can go 30km per hour, however we usually see flyboarders travelling around 20km an hour.

Do I need any previous experience to enjoy the flyboard experience?

Not at all!  It’s pretty simple to get the hang of it, and once you’re comfortable, you’ll be flying high in no time!

What is the minimum age to do flyboarding?

Fly/Hoverboarders must be over 14 years of age. If you are between 14-18 years old, we require parental/guardian approval. Please contact us for the form to fill out prior to your session.

Will the flyboard boots fit most people?

Yes, the flyboard boots adjust to fit men sizes 7 to 13. Larger size boots are available on request. Neoprene socks can be used for smaller size feet.

How much does the flyboard weigh?

Approximately 45kg
